Albuquerque, N.M.(May 13, 2010) –ACCION New Mexico ∙ Arizona ∙ Colorado (ACCION) has received a new funding commitment of $125,000 from Wells Fargo for operational support of ACCION’s lending, training, outreach and marketing efforts. This new funding adds to a previous pledge by Wells Fargo, bringing the bank’s total gift to ACCION to $250,000.
In recognition of this leadership level gift, ACCION will name the conference and training room in its new regional headquarters in the historic sawmill district of Albuquerque after Wells Fargo.
Recently appointed ACCION board member Lisa Riley, regional president, New Mexico Community Banking, Wells Fargo, facilitated this gift. “Wells Fargo believes strongly in our partnership with ACCION to help entrepreneurs and small business owners achieve their dreams,” said Riley, “ACCION’s new regional headquarters and its training facilities will make the dreams of many more entrepreneurs a reality. Truly, together with ACCION, we’ll all go far.”
Since 1994, Wells Fargo has been a valuable partner for ACCION, providing referrals, lending capital, charitable contributions and volunteer service to ACCION.
“Wells Fargo has been an innovative partner since our inception,” said Lynn Trojahn, vice president of advancement, ACCION New Mexico ∙ Arizona ∙ Colorado. “I find it particularly fitting that our conference and training room will be named in honor of Wells Fargo as their support will help us bring together local and national entrepreneurs, as well as business leaders, in an environment to learn best practices in microfinance from one another.”
