Gifts Announced at Fall Fundraising Event in Albuquerque
ACCION New Mexico is celebrating the generosity of its valued supporters who have pitched in to help raise $585,000 for the nonprofit organization in just seven weeks.

As ACCION New Mexico approaches the end of its 2005 annual campaign, supporters are responding generously to ensure the organization has the operating funds necessary to offer small business loans in underserved communities and provide support to emerging entrepreneurs statewide.

From the beginning of October through mid-November, the organization raised $475,000 leading up to its recent fall fundraiser. Another $110,000 in new gifts was announced at the Nov. 17 event held at the home of board member Mary Lee Sparks and her husband, John. The fall fundraiser capped an exciting year of ACCION activities, which have helped bring in more than $1.5 million dollars in contributions to the small business development organization.

The support is vital as ACCION continues its unprecedented growth. The ACCION team is grateful to recent supporters, including Wells Fargo Bank, First State Bank, Robert and Liz Wertheim, Doris Rhodes and Lovelace Sandia Healthcare.

“During this season of giving, our supporters have truly come to the fore to embody New Mexico’s thriving philanthropic spirit,” said Lynn Trojahn, ACCION New Mexico’s vice president of advancement.
