BANK OF THE WEST PROPELS NEW MEXICO’S ENTREPRENEURS
Company’s Financial Support to ACCION New Mexico Creates Businesses
Albuquerque, N.M. (Feb. 5, 2008) – Bank of the West presented $10,000 to ACCION New Mexico in support of the nonprofit small business developer’s fundraising campaign.

Bank of the West has been a loyal supporter of ACCION New Mexico, providing critical resources for New Mexico entrepreneurs who want to start or expand a small business. Contributing more than $50,000 to ACCION since 2002, Bank of the West also continues to provide a $300,000 interest-free line of credit to ACCION’s lending efforts to small businesses. Michelle Coons, senior vice president at Bank of the West serves on the Take ACCION Task Force, an innovative volunteer group of bankers and business development specialists who enable ACCION to offer loans greater than $50,000 to underserved New Mexican entrepreneurs.

ACCION at a recent staff meeting.

ACCION New Mexico breaks down barriers to capital for underserved entrepreneurs and, provides support to these hardworking entrepreneurs to boost their opportunity for economic empowerment and lasting success. ACCION has provided 2,257 businesses with 3,777 loans totaling more than $21.6 million loans since 1994.
