Albuquerque, N.M. (Nov. 13, 2008) – ACCION New Mexico · Arizona · Colorado is a pace-setting microenterprise development organization pleased to announce its expansion into the Rocky Mountain state.

The Albuquerque, N.M.-based organization is expanding its geographic reach given dramatic shifts in the credit marketplace that create a need for catalytic business loan products and support services to emerging and small business owners in the Denver area.

ACCION is working to establish financial health, well-being, and capacity-building as important links in asset creation and wealth-building for many small business owners. The organization offers small business loans between $200 and $150,000 along with training, networking and other support services to those who want to start a business or business owners looking to expand.

Anne Haines, ACCION’s CEO and president, said the organization’s strategy is the right fit for Denver entrepreneurs. “ACCION has developed a strategy which will allow the organization to reach small business owners more effectively by increasing its existing market size, enabling significant gains in loan volume, and ensuring impact and mission fulfillment that are core to ACCION’s organizational identity,” she said.

The strategy lies in expanding ACCION’s geographic market by leveraging available lending capital and local staff to become a vital microlending resource in the Denver area community.  This is a unique opportunity on ACCION’s doorstep to expand the organization’s grassroots economic development efforts, partner with valuable community resources, and support Colorado entrepreneurs.
