Albuquerque, N.M.(Feb. 23, 2009) –ACCION New Mexico • Arizona • Colorado (ACCION) is celebrating National Entrepreneurship Week, February 21-28, 2009, by recognizing the financial institutions, organizations and individuals that referred the greatest number of entrepreneurs to ACCION in 2008, helping the organization increase the number of small business loans it issued last year by 46 percent over the previous year.
The recipients of ACCION’s 2008 Financial Friends Awards, issued at an event held on February 19, are:

First Community Bank received this special award for the long-standing depth of its support of ACCION, from the organization’s founding 15 years ago, to its recent regional expansion, to the creation of an innovative LLC in partnership with ACCION in 2007. First Community Bank has invested $1.2 million in this LLC, an innovative asset building tool for nonprofit organizations such as ACCION.
ACCION is dedicated to helping small business owners create assets, build wealth, and achieve financial health. The organization offers small business loans between $200 and $150,000 along with training, networking and other support services to those who want to start a business or business owners looking to expand.
