Regional Advancement Committees

Bringing clients, partners and donors together

In the first quarter of 2010, ACCION launched its Arizona and Colorado Advancement Committees, comprised of community partners and clients, to raise contributions to support ACCION's work in each of the regions.  The committee in Arizona launched with a bang, thanks in part to ACCION client Jose Tornero, owner of El Barrio Market in Tucson, who reminded the committee at its launch that ACCION means "action" in Spanish. Jose then immediately made a $500 contribution to ACCION to kick off the group's fundraising efforts!

In Colorado, the initial meeting was held at the Federal Reserve Bank Building in Denver.  The collaborative spirit and dedication to the small business community was so high, the initial attendees mobilized to build a fully formed committee in less than 24 hours.  As new member and ACCION client Jennifer Brown with Quacker Gift Shop said, "I am privileged to be a part of the Colorado Advancement team and look forward to using my knowledge and experience to ensure that more Colorado businesses have the same opportunities for growth that I have enjoyed as a client."
ACCION would like to thank everyone involved for their time and commitment!
