Volunteers for ACCION
Our volunteer partners have a great deal of experience. An even greater deal of dedication to the success of New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado's entrepreneurs drives many of them to help us. We are fortunate to have staff members from our bank partners share their skills and insights with ACCION in areas ranging from underwriting to business development. Meet Bank of Albuquerque’s Marcia Hembree.
Hembree says her experience as a volunteer with the Take ACCION Task Force has been a wonderful opportunity to bring together her banking expertise and ACCION’s unique lending approach. The veteran banker is helping ACCION underwrite and analyze larger loans. In return, she’s learned more about one of ACCION’s most important lending criteria: “When we began looking at loan applicants, the ACCION team kept talking about passion. I kept thinking, passion? I don’t have a measurement for passion!” Marcia’s own passion for ACCION’s work inspired colleagues has since inspired other bank collegues to support he ACCION effort.
